Hubelbank

Hubelbank, Israel (Izzy),formerly of Delray Beach, FL passed away unexpectedly Friday June 22 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. In his short life of 88 years he left an indelible mark of enrichment on all those with whom he came in contact. He is a veteran of WWII, having served in the South Pacific, as a Combat MP. He saw action, in the hard fought invasion and occupation of Okinawa. He aslo was in the occupying troops in Japan. He worked tirelessly for Carpenters Local Union 135 in NYC, rising to the position as Business Agent. Though he left high school early to help support his family, he later earned both his high school and BA Degree in Labor Law from Cornell Extension University, in 1975, at a time in life when most people are contemplating retirement. He was an active member and participant in his Synagogue, Temple Torah of Boynton Beach, FL until last year. He was also a Mason, model boat builder, golfer and Yankee fan. He will be terribly missed by his son Mitch, grandchildren Philip and Alexandra and son Jay & daughter-in-law Roberta, and younger sister Minnie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and untold friends and other family. Services will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 1:45pm, at Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, 11115 Jog Road, Boynton Beach. Contributions in his memory may be made to Barnert Temple Mens's Club in his honor, 747 Route 208, Franklin Lakes, NJ 07014.
