Lorain County Community College issued the following news release:

The Monday, June 25 session of Transitions (a free networking group sponsored by Lorain County Community College), will feature David Miller, a senior human resources professional with extensive experience in staffing and selection, labor relations, college recruiting and executive development. Miller will share practical advice on how to conquer the interview process. The session will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. in room 228 of LCCC's College Center Building.

The program is free of charge and is open to residents of all areas.

Miller will discuss:

* The power of knowledge and the shift of power during the interview process

* How to prepare for a behavioral interview

* Customary order of interviews

* Where interviewers get their questions

* Use of the résumé in the interview process

* Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of their résumé and a highlighter to the program.

Miller is currently a consultant with the Cleveland office of DBM, a human capital management services firm specializing in managing career change. He delivers career transition services including workshops and individual coaching.

He is also an adjunct faculty member for Ashland University, Tiffin University, and Florida Gulf Coast University, instructing courses in HR/LR Management, Communications, Management Skill Development, Strategic Management, and Ethics.

Miller's most recent corporate position was director of human resources for LTV Steel. A resident of Westlake, Miller holds a bachelor of arts in psychology and a master in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University.

Sponsored by LCCC's Employment and Career Services, Transitions is a free networking group to support business professionals in search of a new job or career change.
