DATELINE: WASHINGTON

BODY:
The Federal Communications Commission issued the following press release:
Commissioner Michael J. Copps announced today that John Giusti, his Acting Legal Advisor for wireless and international issues, will be leaving his staff to serve as Deputy Bureau Chief of the International Bureau. Commissioner Copps expressed his deep appreciation for John: "I thank John for his wise counsel and advice on wireless and international issues. He will be missed by my office, and by me personally, but we look forward to working with him in his new capacity. John's intelligence, diplomatic skill and good judgment will be a great asset to the International Bureau. He goes from addressing issues in my office to redressing communications issues around the globe. We are all fortunate to have someone of his skill in this new position."
Copps also announced an addition to his office. "I am pleased to announce that Scott M. Deutchman will be joining my staff as Legal Advisor. He is a graduate of Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations and a cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Scott most recently served as the Managing Director of The LawMedia Group, providing legislative and public relations counsel for a variety of companies, trade associations and business coalitions. Before that, Scott served as Minority Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary and practiced law at Hogan and Hartson in Washington, DC. In addition, Scott has been an Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of Maryland Law School. His character, policy savvy and experiences in and out of government uniformly have impressed those who have worked with him in Washington. I look forward to working with Scott and count myself fortunate to have him join my office at the FCC."
As announced previously, Jessica Rosenworcel will serve as Commissioner Copps' Senior Legal Advisor. In addition to her duties as senior advisor, Ms. Rosenworcel will serve as advisor for media issues. Scott M. Deutchman will serve as Legal Advisor for competition and universal service issues and Bruce Liang Gottlieb will serve as Legal Advisor for wireless and international issues.
