Thursday, November 03 To the Editor of THE EAGLE:-
When you go to the polls on Nov. 8, I encourage everyone to cast one of their four votes for councilor-at-large candidate, Jim Arpante. Arpante is devoted to this city and will take a realistic approach to improving Pittsfield. Arpante will represent ordinary people: senior citizens on a fixed income, middle class families, and young people.
Arpante has promised to keep taxes low, and promote economic growth and technological development. As a Berkshire Community College student, I fully support Jim Arpante. He has shown dedication to BCC with his professional, caring attitude and passion for teaching. He has also shown dedication to the city when he served on city council in the past.
To have a fair governmental system, it is important to have diverse opinions on the council. Arpante will be the voice for citizens who feel disenfranchised or for Pittsfield residents who are not motivated to vote. Arpante has the experience and education to lead the residents of Pittsfield forward. He earned a B.A. in political science and a minor in sociology from Syracuse University, a Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law, an M.A. in criminal justice from American International College, and a certificate in public sector labor relations from Cornell University.
Arpante is not negative, he is sensible. It is important for all of us to take a rational look at Pittsfield and decide what candidate will move us forward in a positive direction. Do we like where we are now, or could there be a better future? Vote Jim Arpante.
