Website Fosters Hiring of Workers With Disabilities

The National Employer Technical Assistance Center has launched a website through which its Employer Assistance and Resource Network helps employers seeking to recruit, hire, and retain employees with disabilities, the Labor Department announced Feb. 28.

The National Employer Technical Assistance Center is funded by a cooperative agreement between DOL's Office of Disability Employment Policy and Cornell University. The new website, available at http://www.AskEARN.org, includes information on recruiting and hiring, returning to work, managing talent, workplace accessibility and culture, conferences, and training opportunities.

The site links to the Workforce Recruitment Program, a job matching service that draws from a database of 2,200 pre-screened students and recent graduates with disabilities who are seeking summer internships and/or permanent employment.

The website also links to the EARN newsletter and the Business Case, through which employers discuss their experiences with hiring and retaining workers with disabilities.
