Debbie L. Sydow has been appointed to a two-year term as presidentof the New York state's Association of Presidents of Public Community Colleges. Sydow has served as a community college educator and administrator for more than 20 years and is currently the president of Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, N.Y. Sydow has been a member ofthe association since 2000. She previously served as secretary and vice president. She also serves as chair of the board of directors of the Institute for Community College Development at Cornell University and is the former chair of the American Council on Education's Commission on Leadership and Institutional Effectiveness.
