{}Shots fired into Elm Street house

Elmira city police were searching a Near Westside neighborhood Friday night after a report of gunshots in the area.

Investigators found two bullet holes in a house in the 300 block of Elm Street.

No one was injured, said Sgt. Dennis Collins.

Collins said after the report of the shots, police continued to receive calls about sightings of the shooter.

Original reports on the police scanner said officers were looking for four suspects. One description was of a black male in jeans and a red hooded shirt.

The reports were still coming in around 10 p.m., and several possible suspects were stopped and interviewed during the investigation, Collins said.

However, no one could identify the shooter, and they were released.
